The 1991 Cadillac Allanté is a luxury two-seat roadster famous for its transatlantic assembly process, featuring a body designed and manufactured by Pininfarina in Italy before being flown to Detroit for final assembly.

Engine: 4.5-litre V8 (featuring a tuned intake exclusive to the Allanté).

Power output: 200 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque.

Drivetrain: Front-wheel drive paired with a four-speed automatic transaxle.

1991 Model Year Updates:

Cadillac introduced several engineering changes for 1991 to solve early complaints:

Power-latching top: A new electronic mechanism simplified lowering and raising the convertible soft top.

Upgraded audio: The premium Bose Symphony Sound system was boosted to 200 watts.

Digital dash: The electronic instrument cluster became a $495 option rather than standard equipment, appearing on all but 275 units.

Rarity and Production:

Production numbers for the 1991 model year were incredibly low, with only 1,928 units manufactured out of the 21,430 total Allantés built during its 1987–1993 run. Only five of the 1991 models were officially exported to Canada, featuring standard daytime running lights and engine block heaters.
